Prairie Ronde accessibility and accommodations
Electronic textile camp is hosted by the Prairie Ronde Artist Residency in Vicksburg, Michigan. Prairie Ronde is a campus that consists of many old buildings and houses throughout the village. Not all of them are fully ADA accessible and we will do our best to support the needs of our community within the realms of possibility. The village of Vicksburg is very flat with good sidewalks and ample public parking. All of the buildings we will be utilizing are no more than one mile from each other.
Gallery Space
The gallery is the only fully ADA accessible space with accommodating restrooms on the same level. The gallery is less than one block from the workspace and is attached to Mackenzie’s Bakery.
Workspace
The building that will be our workspace has a fairly accessible entrance, with a wide doorway and plenty of space to create wide walkways. However, the bathroom is down one flight of stairs in the basement*. There is plenty of street parking in the area.
*The restrooms at the Gallery Space are also available for use during business hours.
Houses
All of the houses where residents stay have driveways and places to park. We will be eating all of our dinners together at the Main House. All of the houses are less than a quarter mile from the Main House.
Main House
Main House has a short flight of stairs at both the front and back entrances, two bathrooms–one on the ground floor and one on the second floor, and bedrooms on both levels. The Main House Is 0.6 miles walking distance from the workspace and downtown Vicksburg.
Cottage House
Cottage House has a full bath on the main floor and a powder room on the second floor. Two bedrooms are on the main floor as well, with a third bedroom on the second floor. The Cottage House is 0.6 miles walking distance from the workspace and downtown Vicksburg.
Music House
Music House has a step up to reach the front door, a large bathroom on the ground floor, as well as one bedroom on the ground floor. The remaining two bedrooms are on the second floor up a narrow flight of stairs. The Music House is 0.6 miles walking distance from the workspace and downtown Vicksburg.
Bungalow House
Bungalow House has a short flight of stairs to reach the front door, a bathroom on the main level and a bedroom up a flight of stairs. The Bungalow House is 0.8 miles walking distance from the workspace and downtown Vicksburg.
